Frank Peck

Frank

We would just like to send our best wishes onto Frank Peck.

After many years working in Regional Development, Frank has finally decided to take the next steps.

Keith worked with Frank at CRED for 10 years and like all that have met him was totally impressed by his modesty and true ability to recognize, analyze and summarize anything to do with regional development.

Listening

Few people have the real ability to listen to everything that is said without judgement.  Frank has the rarer skill of been able to listen and then to summarize complicated situations in bite size pieces.

My time with Frank allowed me to hone my listening skills. It also taught me to focus on the now rather than what has been or what might be….and almost complete that PhD…

Arbitrating rather than pontificating

Frank was recognized in his field globally via the Regional Studies Association and regionally from his regular work within the European Union.  He never used this to gain credence at a local level, he never needed to. Frank was one of the silent partners for both Carlisle, Cumbria and Borderlands.  He was the ‘expert’ referred to because he gave an honest, considered opinion of any given local situation.

I learned the importance of earned trust and this lesson will remain with me for the rest of my career.  In our small way we will continue to support the development of our place.

Cheers and thank you for all you have done

So, a simple thank you from all of us to your good self. Professor Frank Peck PhD, Academician of the Academy of Social Sciences and Member of Expert Groups for the European Commision.
